Oxford Properties Grouptoday announced plans to develop a minimum of one million square feet of rooftop solar projects across North America by 2022.
By piloting its rooftop solar project, Oxford seeks to demonstrate the economic benefits of solar energy, as well as the clear environmental benefits.
The solar program is part of Oxford’s wider pledge to reduce its carbon emissions by 30% by 2025.
The company — which co-developed Hudson yards with Related and is redeveloping the old St John Terminal building in Hudson Square — announced a partnership with Washington, D.C. based nonprofit New Partners Community Solar, the region’s premier solar development corporation dedicated to promoting sustainability and supporting low-income communities.
