This column has been a strong advocate for contech since I started writing it back in 2018, as my most loyal readers will know. The sector is currently booming, and massive funding announcements are a common occurrence, a testament to the fact that the laggard construction industry has finally woken up to the need to innovate. One such raise was Versatile’s recent $80 million Series B round a few weeks ago, led by Insight Partners, which was announced together with a strategic partnership with Turner Construction. We had first looked at Versatile in a piece on top female-led startups two years ago, so I was curious to hear what they had been up to since then.
